After extensive research and years of coaching hockey skills development at the Mite-Peewee age, we found there was a wide range of quality in the various published training programs. We have developed a program based on three areas of focus.

There is little doubt that kids have a lot of fun playing in games just for the sake of competition. Iceman Hockey has been successful at helping kids develop because we integrate competition into as many drills as possible. The practice plans often include small area games and the there are full sessions devoted to scrimmages. For every three hours of practice, we have one inter-squad scrimmage/games day.

During the fall session players at both levels will participate in 15 hours of practice/instruction, 5 hours of games (both at Ames arena) and 5 hours of Skating Treadmill (at Acceleration South in Apple Valley). Feel free to visit thier website to learn more about the benefits of the Skating Treadmill:

The Iceman Hockey School formula applies a strong skating/puck handling focus and the competitive drill concept to a detailed progressive practice plan to meet the goal of delivering better skill development for every hour spent on the ice.
